Chances for Santa Clara University

Hi there! I'm aware that most people in this section ask about their chances for transferring to top notch prestigious schools, so pardon me if this post seems as more of a joke, but I'm extremely curious and SCU is my top choice.

I'm a freshman at Arizona State University in the honors college and I've received a 3.81 GPA last semester and I think I'm going to get 4/4 A's this semester (this school is a joke academically but the city of Tempe and the campus itself is a blast). I'm in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and made the Dean's list my first semester. I'm also a member of STAND, which is Students Taking Action Now for Darfur. I know my extra curricular looks bad for college, but it's all stacked from high school achievements and my current job.

Here's my high school info:
Graduated with a 3.71 from a Jesuit college preparatory (SCU is also Jesuit).
1900 SAT score
27 ACT score
50 hours of community service Junior year (they only ask about 11 and 12 grade)
In three clubs, and intramurals
Traveled to Mexico and Appalachia on service projects.

My essay was mostly about my experiences from traveling for service projects and what I learned as well as why I want to transfer to a small university. I was accepted as a freshman, too, but am now worried because it's becoming a popular school and they overenrolled for the current freshman class. So I'm worried that the transfer spots have decreased dramatically.

Thanks!

i do not think it is lame to post SCU...i'm applying there too...i dont know much but it looks like you have a really good shot of getting in...we basically have the same numbers (more or less)...how are you going about getting everything in in one envelope...i just dont find it reasonablefor them to ask for that because its not like i can drive down to my high school at anytime to grab my transcripts and my prof wanted to send the recommendation herself...

yeah I was thinking the same thing so I called up and they just said they would prefer everything in one envelope. My high school transcript and act/sat scores were sent seperately from my college trascript and letter of recommendation. i wish they would just do rolling starting may 1 instead of waiting for june 1! ha can't wait

I think your chances are good, based on knowing someone who also was accepted as a freshman and then again as a sophomore transfer.

If you are male, your chances are even better, most likely as SCU is one of those schools that has wanted to improve its M/F ratio.

so girls really have it harder to get in?...dang it.

I'd say your definitely in, and with some good essays you have a decent shot at many top 50 universities should you wish to apply elsewhere.

I applied to USC, Virginia, and LMU, too. I'm pretty certain I screwed up my USC application because I waited until the last second to send everything in, but I don't care too much for it. Virginia and Santa Clara are the two schools that interest me (polar opposites, i know :D) and LMU is basically a back up school so if I don't get into any I can still live in LA at a decent school.
