Chances for SCS?

I'm a sophomore in high school, so i really don't have a lot of information to give you guys. I would definitely consider Carnegie Mellon my dream school, and want to see what my potential chances are of getting in to the school of Computer Science. I have a weighted GPA of 4.5 for this quarter, which i believe translates to about a 3.4-3.6 unweighted(on 4.0 scale). I am in all AP or PRE-AP(10th graders in my school can only take 2-3 AP classes, then there are classes that are "PRE-AP" that count for the same credit GPA wise as the normal ap classes). i expect to be either in the IB program or taking all AP next year.

I'm not sure if this is at all relevant, but i am in AP computer Science, and next year(as well as the year after), i will be taking computer science courses at University of Miami.

The only other information i can give you guys are my PSAT scores, which are:

Reading: 73

Writing- 62

Math- 58

Total- 193

This was of course with no studying, and i think I'm going to start being tutored in a few months.

Thanks!

Your test scores and courseload are mainly useful for gauging how much work you’re used to. To determine if CMU’s CS program is a good fit for you, you might want to consider questions more like this:

What kinds of math have you taken/are you taking? Have you ever taken a class on logic or one where you wrote proofs? If so, how did you like it?

What about your CS classes particularly interests you? How much programming do you do on your own? What kind of CS or math-related activities are you involved in (extracurriculars or personal hobbies)?
