My csu gpa is 3.5 and ACT score 30. I'm a California resident applying to SDSU. What're my chances on getting in as undeclared?

Your ACT score is 4 above their 75th percentile student. I’d say you have a good chance going by that. I didn’t find data for the average GPA, but 3.5 is pretty good. As long as you have some good EC’s, interesting essays, good recommendations, etc., I’d say you’re good.

I also have a lot of extra curriculars like soccer and volunteering

buuuuuuuummmppp

Unless SDSU is somehow different than all the other CSUs, they don’t care about your EC’s and there is no essay or recommendations. Therefore, that shows that Kitten23’s opinion is worth about what you paid for it. Why don’t you ask someone who can actually advise you, like your school guidance counselor?

Goldenwest is correct, they don’t care about ECs at all.

They (and the other CSUs -except SLO) combine your CSU GPA and ACT into a CSU Index that is used to rank applicants. Read about it here:
<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

I understand they drew the line last year at about 990 ACT/4100SAT for CA residents out of their service area. Local students have a lower threshold. Out of state is higher.

With a 3.5 and 30, your index would be about 1000 so, you should be in good shape.

You may want to double check your CSU GPA calculation, it can be tricky. Remember, not to count non- a-g courses and only include 8 semester AP bonus points. This tool is very helpful.
