I attend a competitive jesuit high school. My ACT score is 29, my GPA is 3.75(my school doesn't weigh GPA). We don't rank either, but it is a very competitive school. Junior Courses: AP US Govt., AP Eng. Lang., German III, Latin III, Algebra II/Trig, Chemistry, Ethics. Senior year will look like this: AP Euro Hist., AP Eng. Lit., German IV, Calculus, AP Bio, Social Ethics of War & Peace. What I'm really concerned about is if these courses constitute the level of difficulty that Georgetown, particularly SFS, is looking for. I'll have plenty of community service bc its a jesuit school. I'm interning for my congressman this summer in Washington D.C. I've been President of the Model UN club for 3 years and am involved with Drama and our newspaper as well and will be involved with the yearbook. To the best of your knowledge, will taking 4 yrs. of German and 3 of Latin be kind of an advantage for SFS? Thanks a lot and any suggestions are much appreciated.

I had five years of High School Latin, and four years of High School Spanish and I really emphasized my interest in languages and my desire to take Arabic. I wouldn't worry about your course load. Also the Ethics of War and Peace look very SFSish. Just emphasize your interest in specifically going to SFS using the things you have done and want to do as examples and you will have as good of a shot as anyone.
