I am applying into 6year PharmD programs for Northeastern, UConn, Univ Rhode Island and I am applying into Management (specifically Human Resources Management) at UMass Amherst. I am applying early action for all schools. Also, if anyone has any other recommendations for schools I have a chance of getting into for Human Resources Management I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I think you’ll be okay for Northeastern (depends on the applicant pool), don’t know anything about UConn OOS, and your SAT might be a little low for URI’s pharmacy program, though certainly not for the school.

If you want a “safety” for pharmacy, I would suggest Mass College of Pharm & Health Sci or Albany College of Pharm.

Thanks! I am not extremely interested in URI so I think I’m ok with that haha. I was going to apply to MCPHS, but I really don’t want to go there so I didn’t even bother applying.

I also applied to St. Johns University because I got a waived fee/essay/etc. I don’t know much about the pharmacy program there though…

I’m not sure about the Pharmacy accelerated programs, but I know the MD ones almost require that you’ve taken AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Calc. Not required but pretty much everyone that’s accepted has taken it.

I know it’s too late to take AP Chem now but I’m assuming that if you’re interested in Pharmacy you probably do well in your chemistry classes anyways.

I agree w/ sk8r, you should probably apply to a solid saftey school just in case.

soad, AP science credits are not accepted as prerequisites for pharmacy students. Some schools even stipulate that sciences must be taken at a 4 year college, and most insist that there be a lab component.

Matt, check the pharmacy information page for SJU. Last year the “optional” essay was mandatory for pharmacy applicants. Email the pharmacy admissions office if it doesn’t specifically say the waiver is good for pharmacy.

Idk what the tuition is for UMass instate but have you considered applying to other 2+4 pharmacy programs? University at Buffalo is a 2+4 and is very reasonable, and has a very well respected pharmacy program. It’s a school with alot going on and the students seem to love it there. I believe you could get a merit award there and probably honors college as well. Sk8rgirl is a pre-pharm there so you can PM me for details if you’re interested.
