bump anyone?

bump. again.

Duke- low reach
Rice- low/mid reach
Cornell- low/mid reach
Columbia- high reach
Harvard- high reach
WUSTL- mid reach
Vanderbilt- high match
USC- match
UCLA- match
UCSD- match/safety*

You have very good chances at all your “low/mid reach” schools. The high reach schools are usually high reaches for everyone. Make sure you have shown “demonstrated interest” at Rice, WashUStL, Duke, and Vandy, by attending a college fair or having visited campus. The other schools on your list don’t care about d.i. Given your overall stats and resume, you are a solid applicant.

*I would perhaps ADD one or two of the ELC UC’s to your list as a safeties (UCD or UCSB or both), just in case. That’s what my son is going to do since you only pay the additional application fee and do the same amount of work. Congrats on your achievements and good luck.

Thanks so much jshain! Luckily the Rice supplement allows me to state all my contacts with Rice, so I have mentioned the campus visit and tour, local college fair, and high school visit. Duke is my top choice, but when I attended my high school visit, the representative said that demonstrated interest is not a factor, so I’m not sure.

Harvard and COlumbia are long reaches, as they are for everyone, but especially for an indian from CA, you seem solid everywhere else

CHANCE ME!!

bump anyone else?

Sorry for taking a while to chance…

Duke- low reach
Rice- low reach
WUSTL- low reach
Cornell- low reach
Columbia- Reach
Harvard- Reach
It safe to say top tier ivies are reaches for everyone, though you have an excellent shot

Vandy- High Match
USC- High Match
Most likely in at Vandy and USC

UCLA- safety/match
UCSD- safety/match
I don’t think you need to worry bout the UCs

Thanks ZapadniyRus! Much appreciated.

^^^ Sorry again, lol, damn extended essay for IB

i’d say you were a good candidate for all your schools, but 2 things i would suggest is taking mroe subject tests and making your essays stellar. those schools already have perfect gpa and sat candidates so if you can’t compete at that level (which you can but wont make you stand out) then you need to make your personality stand out.

^Thanks! Yeah I have worked long and hard on the essays and have also secured interviews at my top choices to display my personality.

Excellent shot, great SATs, GPA, etc. and some really interesting ECs! I like that you do some things that aren’t as common, be sure to emphasize them so you stand out. You have a really good chance at all these schools, especially the non-ivies (simply because any ivy league school is hugely competitive…my friend’s dad had a perfect SAT and 4.0 GPA and was rejected from Princeton…)
