Chances for someone with low ACT scores...

GPA: 4.24 (weighted)
AP: USH: 5 Chinese: 5
IB Diploma Student
Senior Year Course Load: IB Mathematics/AP Calculus, IB Literature, IB History, IB Biology II, IB Chemistry II, IB TOK, AP Micro</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: US Senate Page, Model UN, Chinese Club, Debate Team, Math Team, DECA, Varsity Softball, Leadership Club, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, and Trivia Club.
Job/Work Experience: US Senate Page, started my own import business with over 13k in sales, have investments in a multi million dollar hotel complex in NYC.
Volunteer/Community service: Over 300 hours, teaches Sunday School my local church.
Summer Activities: US Senate Page, interned at a multi million dollar consulting firm</p>

<p>Hook: First generation, grew up working in my family's take out restaurant (IDK if thats a hook).</p>

<p>31 is on the low side for hopkins admissions, but still in the middle 50% if I rremember correctly. You should check out the common data set to see where the rest of your stats fall in regards to the hopkins norm.
IMO you stand a decent chance ED. Probably a low reach.</p>

<p>I would work on the math ACT. Spend some time with the prep books. You should be able to get it higher for RD.</p>

<p>Lol, a hook is usually like political connections or the coach wants you for the team. Zillion of people applying to top schools worked in family Chinese takeouts or Korean groceries, and of course there are quotas. Something interesting and unusual in your background might help, but I wouldn’t emphasize that.</p>

<p>The US Senate page experience might be a little of a hook though.</p>

<p>You are good at presenting yourself and making things sound impressive. </p>
