Ok, so I'm currently a freshman at community college and I want to leave this place as soon as possible so I applied for spring transfer to Elon. Do I have a legit shot?? Please let me know! I want to study Engineering there.
STATS:
HS GPA: 3.0 took several APs, AP scholar. Competitive Michigan high school.
ACT: 31 (35 math,30 E, 30 R, 28 S)
SAT: 2120 first sitting ( 800 M, 680 CR, 640 W)
SAT II: 800 on Math2, 720 Chem
english is my second language, so thats why my Writing and CR and stuff isn't as high as math.
EC's are nothing spectacular, especially when compared to others on CC.
college sem1 GPA will be near 4.0 but will they even care???
Thanks so much for your help!!

I would say you’re in. SAT is very good obviously, APs are good, but it will mostly depend on you CC GPA, not HS GPA. Also being an engineering major should help as the school has very few. It also helps that you’d be applying as a transfer, as Elon is much easier to get into that way.

Interesting… I think you will get in (if your HS GPA is unweighed). As a freshmen at a CC, I think admissions will be looking at your HS GPA and “maybe” considering your CC work.

Unlike Rex, I think it’s harder to get into Elon as a transfer student.

If english is your second language and your smart (and you certainly are) then Elon will look at your stats very seriously. I think if you can get in if you can explain why you want Elon to the admissions committee. Good Luck…

Thank you both for your input!!
Elon is definitely one of my top choices, but my GPA is horrendously low for their standards. They say their avg freshman GPA is 3.97. However I have heard that this is weighted somewhat generously. Also, is anyone familiar with their engineering program (The 3-2 dual degree program)?? How are the transfer rates to the top partnering schools like ga tech, columbia and va tech?

Thanks for all your help!!

Anyone else have any input? I’ve finished applying and im waiting anxiously
