Chances for SPS and Deerfield Acadmey

I am applying to St Paul’s School and Deerfield for 10th grade. So far I’ve had my interview with Deerfield and it seemed like it went really well, we actually went over time, but she corrected me when I mispronounced an authors name. So I wasn’t sure if she looked down upon it and I had trouble recalling the story, but she still seemed pretty chill about. I haven’t had my interview with St. Paul yet, but its off campus and its this Monday–a Skype call. I have a 3.8 and I take Biology, Spanish I, Algebra II, English I, GYM/PE, and Theology. I haven’t taken the SSAT yet but I’m expecting to get in like the 85th percentile, and also my teachers like me. I’m reapplying to Deerfield and I was wondering if my resume was good enough. One person at St. Paul that I know, who helps with admission, said that if I had applied last year they would’ve accepted me because he would’ve put in a strong word for me. So I was just curious if I would get accepted into either of the school’s, mainly Deerfield because it’s my favorite. But, I’ve heard that they mainly only admit those with high economic status.

It sounds as though you are a strong candidate. Don’t overthink small mistakes in the interviews, everyone is human. If you do end up scoring in the mid 80’s I would consider retaking, as many schools look for at least high 80’s. Good luck and remember that applying for the 10th grade is considerably more competitive, so if you don’t end up getting offered admissions, it may not be a total representation of you.
