I'm going to be applying for the 6 year pharm D program

do you think i'll be able to get into it? .. and what about merit scholarships? do you think i'd have any chance of getting any?

thanks so much! :)

take math & sci SATIIs because it seems to be your strongpoint and work on brining up your SATS. st. johns is known for its pharmacy stuff and you're involved in a lot of science stuff. try to get involved with more extra cirrculars. with that, you definatley have a shot.

thanks!

would I have to take SATIIs? I wasn't planning on taking them ...

What would my chances be with my current stats?

pretty good stats, as for what you've got now, it sounds pretty good. I'd take a shot at it.

My friend goes to St. Johns and she had a really bad track record. You sound like a shoe-in compared to her :)

wow really? :)

I heard that the pharmacy program was extremely competitive

it is, but she got into it :D.

you're good to go, good luck!

wait. which St. Johns? you live in NY so should I assume St. John's university in Queens/Jamaica? not St. John's college?

if thats the one, then you are 100% in. Find out if you can apply undecided and transfer into their six year course, because i think it will be a bit harder if you apply directly to it.

yeah, I mean St. John's University in Queens :)

and I'd rather I apply directly into it... so my chances of getting directly in are bad?

cause what I heard was that they were extremely competitive, like you had over 1k people applying for only like 300 spots...

I don't mind if I don't get in, I want you guys to be completely honest with me :)

I think you can get in.

Your chances are decent, just try to bring your sat's up. Their avg for the pharm program is ~1270.

And you should definitely apply directly from high school. The dean told me during an open school day that they don't accept transfers.

This year, they had like ~2500 pplz applying. They accept 600 students but there are 300 seats in the program. So it's a first come, first serve basis.

(P.S. I'm going there next fall for pharm)

Hope I helped, good luck!
