I am a sophomore (I know it is early), but at the rate I am going at please predict chances.
GPA_ freshman- 4.0 sophomore- 4.1

APS- took AP Bio with an A- expecting a 4 or 5 on AP test.

SAT-
2050- Jan 730- WR,700- MATH, 620- CR.
Retook SAT and expecting higher CR but WR and MATH in same range.

SATII-
Biology E- 680 in JUne 06
retaking it and expecting 750

ECs-
Math Club- 2 yrs.
Model UN- 1 year.
Community Service- 2 years.
A few nominations for things like National Leadership forum on medicine.
Took AMC twice.

yeah i'd say like a 20% chance at both at this point, maybe better for Berkeley if
you're in state. you're just average competitive at this point.

i'd imagine if you were instate a 2050 would be pretty much very competitive for berkeley, probably not at stanford, but if you raise your SAT to at least 2100 i am sure that you'll stand a solid chance, about the same chance of anyone who applies and really that is all you can ask for

looking good for Cal, but junior year is critical since the material cranks up a notch from Soph year. Essays are key. Try to get a leadership position.

Stanford is a reachy-reach for everyone. Additional test scores above 700...

Moving = bad for Berkeley. I'd even say that it'll be harder to get into Berkeley should you move, since you wouldn't be in-state anymore. HOWEVER, should you stay in CA, Berkeley would be a MATCH. Stanford would be a HIGH Reach.

retake that 2050. You need at least a 2200 to have a shot at Stanford. Unless you have some kind of hook, your chances are pretty slim right now. I'm not sure about Berkley, but retaking the SAT would still apply. 2200 would put you right into the mix. Also, i've heard maintaining a high GPA is good for UC's.

oh you did retake. Just hope it's a good score. If you still have trouble, consider taking a 3rd time, but anything near 2200 or above is fine.
