Im not sure whether there is any point of applying to the top schools.
I live in Oxford, England so havent got round to taking my SATs yet but im not applying till next year.
I am a bit lost when it comes to what the American universitys want cause English universitys are far more interview- exam based rather than all this GPA and EC and AP stuff.... so basically I have no clue where I stand

I dont have a GPA cause England doesnt do that but I guess the best way to tell is my General Certificate of Secondary Education - you take any number of them from about 5 to 13. they are marked A* A B C D E U.
My results:
Music: A*
Maths: A*
Science award 1(chemistry, physics, biology): A*
Science award 2(chemistry, physics, biology): A*
French: A
Drama: A
Englsih: A
Art: A
History: A
Futher maths ( just over 2000 people in the country take this, a quarter get Us and there is no A* as this is an extention course): A

ECs:
High school orchestra second violin for 3 years
High school chapel choice first soprano for 3 years
bronze (grade 6 london academy of drama and arts) in speech and drama
I will have my grade 8 (highest grade) piano for lamda by the time of application
I went to my first high school (for 3 years cause we have 5 years of high school) on an academic exhibition (one step below a scholarship)
On an academic scholarship at my current school

(I am also in the art club, the PPE club (politics, philosophy and economics), the oxbridge group and I write for the colledge magazine)

I am taking 6 As levels and 5 for A2 (these are comparable to APs but as we do not have SAT studying and all that these are done in more depth)
I am doing maths (As and A2), further maths (As and A2), english (As and A2), politics (As and A2), economics (As and A2) and japanese (only to As and I am taking it outside of timetable because they couldnt fit it in my timetable as a subject)
I am predicted an A for As in all except japanese wich is a B (there is no A)
and an A for all my A2s exept enlgish wich is an A
but these grades are only predictions. It is standard in the UK to take 3 A levels and 4 As or 4 in both.

I have a bit of an inferiority complex going on with my family (they all went to Havard, Cambridge and Oxford to list a few) and really want to get into a good uni

I am going to do an early application to stanford which is definately my first choice.

I am going to also apply to harvard, yale, brown, NYU, Berkley, Columbia and UCLA. Cambridge from UK aswell.

Ill probs get fairly decent SATs but not outsanding as I am not used to the system.

Have I any hope?
