Chances for stanford, duke, cornell, g-town, usc, and college rowing

<p>White male at pretty strong public school in CT</p>

Class rank 3/160
SAT I 2150 (800 m, 700 w, 650 cr)
SAT II 780 m1, 710 history</p>

<p>6 APs (my school doesnt offer a lot)</p>

<p>Sports:
Started varsity sport (crew) at my school (negotiated with administration, recruited players and coach, created budget...)
Fall varsity crew all 4 years
Spring crew 4 years
Captain of crew team 2 years
Basketball 4 years (Varsity 3)
Most improved basketball sophmore year</p>

<p>ECs:
Quiz Bowl
Steering Committee 3 years
Vice President of class senior year
NHS
Spanish Honor Society
Treasurer of Spanish Club
Excellence in Spanish 4</p>

<p>Volunteer:
Started tutoring program for local hispanic kids
Volunteered at local library and church
Participated in many fundraisers for my class and crew team</p>

<p>BTW, if anyone does crew, what erg score is recommended if you want to row division I lightweight (like at stanford or cornell)?</p>

<p>if you’re doig rowing, why not columbia? (i know someone that did crew and he had choice school including ivies and he picked columbia)</p>

<p>it seems like you’ve been doing crew for a long time but aside from that, your GPA and SAT are still what most applicants have when they apply to those schools.</p>

<p>If you area a sr–and haven’t been talking to coaches as far as recruiting…it may be too late.
Have you posted your erg times in the jr national trials?
Have you been visitng and talking with coaches?</p>

<p>You could walk on places–but you may not get any help with crew towards admissions if the apps are in and you haven’t been recruited at those schools</p>

<p>Check the school rosters for lightweights…</p>
