I'm mainly wondering how my ECs are looking to someone who does not know me other than paper, I know my objective scores are pretty fine. Thank you.

I think the quality of your ECs in terms of top schools hinges on the quality of the research you have done and how well it fairs in Siemens, Intel, and other fairs and how well you have done with tennis. Your coursework is fairly work in terms of STEM stuff. I think you’re very likely in at Carnegie Mellon, but the others are reaches.

Stanford: Reach (could be a low reach depending on how much you have done with sports)
Carnegie Mellon: High Match
MIT: Reach (Still, a much better chance than me there, though…)

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1507605-chance-hispanic-2400-ivies-mit-cambridge-will-chance-back.html

Your ECs are a little disjointed for STEM schools like MIT. I would definitely emphasize Engineering Club/ your engineering award and try to do more with that before you send in your apps. Everything else looks fantastic, you definitely have a good chance at these schools, which is the best anyone else has!

Chance me back? [thread]1508542[/thread]

You need stronger EC for these top schools. Your grades and scores are fine for them. Also, you need a wonderful essay to go along with your application.

Engineering Club designed a UAV for the Real World Design Challenge, and got 2nd place in our state. I lead the team on that. We also compete in various robotics challenges throughout our state. I’m also taking part in BURISE at Boston University, which I figure will help boost my STEM appearance. What else am I lacking, just wondering? Thanks.

“What else am I lacking, just wondering?”

Nothing! So pray if you want to get in.

Should I apply Binding Early Decision to CMU and just rule out the option of Stanford and MIT? This would be safer, but I don’t want to if I’ll get into CMU either way, if it won’t make a difference, or if I have a good chance at Stanford/MIT.
