I already applied early to Stanford this month, but I've been extremely anxious over the impending decision letter in December. I know that Stanford's acceptance rate is notoriously low (even for REA), and I know that there is probably a very slight chance that I will be accepted, but I figured that I get other people's opinions.

I plan on majoring in History, which is something that I'm passionate about. I'm hoping that it'll help my submission, as it's not a popular major.

I'm a Chinese-American in Long Island, NY. I attend a prestigious public school, and though our school doesn't exactly do rankings, I would say that I'm top 5%?

I have an unweighted GPA of 3.97 and have taken 8 APs already (5 more this year). They are:
AP Computer Science (9th grade): 4
AP European History and AP Physics B (10th grade): 5 (on all)
AP Comp, AP Calc BC (with AB subsection), AP Physics C, AP Psychology, AP US Hist: 5 (on all)
This year I am taking: AP Econ (both macro and micro), AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Spanish, AP Stat, and Multivariable Calculus.

I am a National AP Scholar and a National Merit Semi-Finalist.

My SAT score is a (superscored) 2270 (720 CR, 800 M, 750 W; 11 Essay) , and my ACT score is a 34 (34 Eng/Mechanics, 35 Math, 34 Reading, 31 Sci, 33 Eng+Writing). I've taken 3 SAT II's: Physics (750), US Hist (780), and Math II (800). I do believe that my test scores are probably one of the weaker parts of my application.

I am a 4-year varsity swimmer, captain my senior year. I'm a county qualifier for four years, and have been involved in club swimming since 6th grade.

I am VP of my school's Tri-M Honor Society, Secretary of the Peer-Tutoring Club, and am involved with NHS and SHS.

I work part time at both my school's Sat Swim program and as a lifeguard.

I believe that I had a good common app essay that was fresh and funny (others have said so too). Because I feel that many common app essays are too serious and cliche, I wanted to go a different route. I'm not sure how the admission office will take that though)

For my supplements, I created two more "serious" ones and one that was funny (the roommate one)

So, please be brutally honest! I know my stats aren't amazing, amazing (I've read some where people have gotten multiple state awards or traveled abroad, or some other stuff like that), but Stanford is my first choice!
