Chances for Stern Admission......?

I am a junior in high school in Long Island, NY.

I am concerned whether I would be wasting my early decision option to college if I apply to NYU Stern. I plan on studying Economics/Business. I also plan on applying to Columbia, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, UPenn, Emory, University of Chicago, and Northwestern.

I would say I am in the top 10 of a class of 300 in a competitive high school.
I had a 730 on CR. 700 on M and 720 on Writing.
I also got a 800 on my SAT II for World History, and believe I will get a 800 on my SAT II in U.S History, a 750 on Chem and a 730 on Math I.

I have 99.4 GPA weighted average and over a 97 average without the weight.

These are list of my accomplishments:

WORK:

School: I am in all honors/AP. I took AP World, AP US History, AP Chem and AP English Language and Composition.
Senior Year I plan on taking AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, AP Gov't, AP Macroecnomics, AP Spanish and AP English Literature.

I also plan on getting great recommendation leaders from my Accounting teacher who also runs FBLA in my school and my AP US History Teacher.

I also intend on attending a business training camp for four days at a local college. I hope you guys give me honest feedback and do not be too cruel lol. I do not know if I should ED at Stern or somewhere else on my list. I want to get into a business program where I can succeed and get into. If you feel I can get into the other schools tell me. I appreciate it.

Honestly, I would not ED because unless Stern is your number one, you have a fair shot at most of the schools you listed. Since you’re not sure of where you want to go, it’d be foolish to commit somewhere ED. And if you’re worried about “wasting” ED, I think you have a good shot of
getting into Stern RD anyways.

See your options first…

bump…

… HAHAHAHAHAHA…
sorry for that rude laugh,
i was recently accepted into Stern’s undergraduate program.
um, my overall achievements aren’t even half of what yours are, and i’m almost done with high school!
my SAT’s: CR 720
MATH: 680
WRITING: 690
GPA: 95, approx 97 weighted

… man your school has a LOT of opportunities for a class of only 300 kids. my school has like 200 students, and we barely have that many clubs total!
and we don’t even have half those ap’s…

the only thing i noticed that admissions might is that you have no sports experience… but even then…

seriously? you probably should just go ahead and apply for MIT Sloan undergrad and Notre Dame… and Harvard. you definitely have a shot at getting in the most competitive of schools!

…and definitely NYU Stern!
