Chances for Stern?

Hi, I'm a junior right now in Central High in Philly (top public HS in the city), and I wanted to know if I have any chance to get into a great business school (i.e. Stern, or any other school in that range.... I'm pretty positive Wharton is a reach)

Current cumulative weighted GPA = 4.02

Ranked 40 out of about 530 (7.5%)

Three MG classes taken (we are only allowed one per year)

Several honors classes, AP Physics B (score pending this May, anticipating a 4)

Taking Calculus as a senior next year (maybe AP BC)

Taking SAT Reasoning in March, estimated scores = 680 CR, 760 Math, 720 Writing

Subject Tests not taken yet, but I'm confident I can score at least 750 on Math Level I and II, and a minimum of 700 on Physics

ACT (with Writing) will be taken on April 4th, expecting no less than 31-32

Extreme lack of extracurriculars (mostly due to a part-time job at my local Acme and a lengthy commute to school)

However, I was on the baseball team as a sophomore and actively involved in our Peer Mentoring program (mainly tutoring freshman in Algebra)

I play basketball for a church league outside of school

Member of the NSHSS

Averaging about 50 hours of community service per school year, and will probably have a total of more than 200 upon graduation

Going to attend a several-week-long business program at a college this summer

Recommendations will not be a problem

Writing skills are very good, maybe good enough to write an essay (or essays) that can make up for my lack of involvement in HS

I realize I am not going to be a sure-fire choice at any top college, but is it too much for me to hope to get into a place like Stern? And is my lack of activities really going to damper my chances THAT much? Also, if not Stern, are there any business programs that anyone can recommend for a student of my level?

Please remember that my test scores are not official, but I can assure you that they will not be lower than what I have listed.

Thanks in advanced....

Your grades just might get you into stern. Your sat scores are excellent. Maybe since stern is a bussiness school you should bring your english sat up to atleast a 700.

Chance me back!

Thanks, andy.

... bump...

Stern is a reach. Try to raise your SAT scores to the 2250s. Lack of Extra-curriculars may hurt you. Do well on your SAT IIs, especially Math IIC and you should have a chance.
Stern is the hardest NYU school to get into and it doesnt come down to scores; it comes down to the essays, recommendations, and extra curriculars. You will have to nail the first two.

i think you have a good chance..
not a high one, but descent

Ok, thanks guys. I think 2200 is the highest realistic score I can get, because CR holds me down. I'm pretty sure I can nail the essay(s), though.

Anyone else?
