Chances for summer?

I submitted my app today and my transcript should be there by Friday. I am in IB and have 3.3 to 3.4 gpa with a 25 act. I applied for summer. Chances of getting in? And when will I hear back? Thanks :)

Hi Kyle,

Here is a link to the eligibility matrix for this year:

http://usfweb2.usf.edu/Admissions/pdf/counselor-grid.pdf

Find out where you fall on this grid by your test scores, GPA, and the “Academic Success Predictors.” Note that USF’s GPA calculation will likely be different than you high school’s calculation, but it looks like a pretty good chance to me… Good luck!

@star powered what are academic success factors?

If you open the link, it lists 7 different items on the upper left, and it says each is worth one point. So for instance, if you have 3 or more AP classes, that counts for one. So to see what your decision might be, find where u fall on the chart by pinpointing the box where your gpa and test score lines up. Then, look below on the key, and it will say how many of the success points you would need.

Note that you can’t exactly figure out the decision based on this, because their weighting system is different. But it’s a pretty good estimate from what I understand :)

I have a question-- Do I get an academic success factor point for every extra year of foreign language, or is it just 1 for additional years. And same question for lab science courses or whatever it was.

Ok well I believe I meet at least 4 factors and my gpa is in the 3.3 to 3.4 range with a 25 act. So hopefully I’m okay.

You can have a maximum of 7 success factors. For example if you take Russian III you have 1 success factor, and if you take Russian IV you still have 1 success factor.
