Hi I'm currently and Junior in HS and my Gpa is a 84.14. The low Gpa was due to my lack of interest in school during my freshmen and sophomore year. During this year I tried to bring my Gpa up and had 87 overall and 90 overall in 2 terms which brought my Gpa up a little bit.

currently taking: English, History, Spanish, Honors pre-calc and honors physics.

Next year schedule: English, Honors Government, Ap calculus ab, Ap psychology and Spanish.

Sat Grade, I've only taken one Sat so far: 1780(combined) 690 math, 560 Cr and 530 wr.
This was last year and I do plan on taking it once more and hopefully scoring a lot higher then this.
Ec's:

Community:

I have 200 hours in volunteer for a private tutoring program(non-profit)

I also do plan on taking Sat 2 math section.

The GPA is a tad low, but I’m sure that if you study over the summer and retake your SAT’s you could get nearly 2000. Also, the extracurriculars are decent but getting leadership positions in them could help.
However, right now, here be the breakdown (although I’m not that well versed with the SUNY admissions system):
Binghampton: High reach
FSU: Reach
New Paltz: Low reach
Albany: Match
Oneonta: Low match

The reason why you are in pretty warm waters with respect to the SUNY’s is because your SAT’s score is either in or above their “top 25%” for all of the schools that you are applying to, especially with your strong math score.

For some safety schools (i.e. schools where you are virtually guaranteed admission), consider perhaps Hofstra, CUNY schools (like Baruch or Lehman), or even NYU Poly, which apparently is super easy to get into.

FSU and Bing are reaches. I know of kids who have gotten into both Albany and Oneonta with lower stats and your cr & m look good for those schools. Not sure on New Paltz. Best of luck!
