Chances for Swarthmore + other top LACs?

Considering applying ED to Swarthmore, and also to Pomona, Hamilton, Vassar, Middlebury, Grinnell, etc. My biggest reach that I'm applying to is probably Brown.

General Stats
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
GPA: 94.1 unweighted, 96.2 weighted (but my school weights really lightly; if a college were to use its own weighting it would almost certainly be much higher)
Class Rank: 54/780 (weighted)
SAT: 2350 (800 M, 800 CR, 750 W) (Re-taking November 3rd for those last 50 points)
SAT IIs: USH (740), Math I (760), Lit (770)

APs:
APUSH: 5
AP Chem: 3 (Yeah, I know... Not a good subject for me...)
This year: AP Lit, AP Stats (Predicting 5s on each)
Most of the APs at my school are only available to seniors, and I could only fit so many into my schedule.

College credits:
4 credits through SUNY Albany for Spanish in 11th grade, credit from Syracuse for Psych, Sociology, and Public Affairs this year (not sure specifically how many credits), credit through SUNY Oswego for German this year -- My school offers classes through SUNY and Syracuse for college credit

Honors courses, Freshman year:
Earth Science H
World Culture H
World Literature H
Geometry H

Honors courses, Sophomore year:
Algebra 2 and Trig H
AP US History
Biology H
Lit Classics/Lit Decisions H
(I also self-studied all of second-year Spanish to switch into a third-year Spanish class - don't know if that counts for anything.)

Honors courses, Junior year:
Chamber orchestra (advanced, audition-only)
Modernism H
Pre-Calc H
SUNY Spanish
AP Chemistry
(Also part of a Mandarin Chinese pilot program, one of 5 students selected out of dozens of applicants from my school to pilot the new Chinese program. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue Chinese this year, but at least I got a semester of it.)

Honors courses, Senior year:
Chamber orchestra
AP Lit
Syracuse Public Affairs
Economics H
AP Stats
Syracuse Psychology
Syracuse Sociology
SUNY German
(I'm also self-studying all of second-year French over the summer - once again, don't know if that counts for anything. I also skipped a year of German. Which means I've skipped a year in all of my languages.)

The only way I could have a harder courseload is if I took AP Physics and AP Calc, but I would have to give up Psych and Sociology for Physics. I'm taking physics next semester at the local community college after school.

ECs/Volunteering:
Amigos de las Americas - Going to Oaxaca, Mexico for 8 weeks this summer to volunteer and work on public health and nutrition projects, as well as give classes to kids there - About 40 hours of training, plus 8 straight weeks this summer (it's not one of those volunteer programs where you just basically go on a glorified vacation; it's real work, basically becoming a community organizer in a foreign language for the summer)

NHS, 2012-2013 (it's only open to seniors in my school)

Tri-M Music Honor Society, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013

Spanish Club - Vice-president 2011-2012, President 2012-2013

International Service Club - Vice-president 2012-2013 - Organizing fundraisers to benefit various international organizations to fight hunger, poverty, disease, etc.

GLASS Club - Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Spectrum

German Club

Violin - Private lessons every week, plus I've been doing orchestra since 9th grade (this year and next year, I'm in the very selective audition-only orchestra at my school, which has won awards)

Tae Kwon Do - Black belt, testing for 2nd degree black belt in April 2013

Youth Court Officer - Court officer in my county's Youth Court in 9th and 10th grade, until Youth Court was disbanded - Counts as volunteer hours, about 50 hours total

Youth Court Leadership Council - 9th and 10th grade - about 10 hours total

Volunteer at local animal shelter - about 30 hours total

Volunteer Event Staff at Northeast Astronomy Forum - Every year since 8th grade, I volunteer as staff at NEAF, which is one of the largest astronomy expos in the world - I mostly work with kids there, explaining basic astronomy stuff and doing arts and crafts activities, as well as other staff work as necessary - about 100 hours since 9th grade

Work experience:
Math tutoring - 9th grade and 10th grade, tutoring elementary/middle school students in math for about an hour a week, for a total of about 50 hours

Honors/awards:
Freshman LOTE Departmental Award - Awarded to the best female and male language students in the 9th grade

National German Exam - Gold medalist

White Letter Award for scoring 100% on a Regents (Spanish Regents, 10th grade)

White Letter Award for work with Spanish Club

I'm intending to major in International Relations, or something along those lines. In my essay, I'm talking about my trip to Mexico (although hopefully not in a clich

You’re obviously a rockstar student. You also have great leadership. I don’t see a deep focus in any one area in your ECs. (it may be there but I don’t see it). I think you’ve got a great shot. do you have a hook???

I’d say my focus is on languages/international relations… I’ve taken Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin Chinese, I’m president of Spanish club and VP of International Service club, member of German club, spent the summer volunteering in Mexico, and I want to major in international relations.

Unfortunately, no, I can’t think of any particular hook. =/

Your chances are quite strong, although your class rank isn’t stellar and your school’s lack of APs didn’t give you much chance to prove your mettle.

The main reason I’m writing here is to STRONGLY dissuade you from re-taking the SAT-1. Those 50 points in W are meaningless, but losing points in CR or M might hurt you–as might the simple act of taking it again; nobody likes a “pro test-taker”-type. The risk-reward here is obvious: zero reward, plenty of risk. Do. Not. Take. The November SAT-1.

Best of luck!

I’m already signed up to take it. Dx I doubt I’d lose points in CR. And it’s not like it’s my 10th time taking it or anything; just my second.

Edit: Also, just wanted to add that admissions people at both Amherst and Vassar have told me that the 50 points COULD make a difference. And since most colleges only look at your top scores in each section, even if I did go down a little in CR or math, I could have a 2400 overall.
