Chances for Syracuse or Stony Brook? (New York residents)

<p>Hello everybody, I want to turn my life around so I want to go to Syracuse. I am going to a bad CUNY school (City Tech). I messed up in high school, but my average is still going to be 90 somehow. My SAT is really bad though. o_o I feel like crying just typing this. I am going to a CUNY school and the classes I'm going to take are the following:</p>

<p>MAT 1475-Calculus I
ENGR 1000-Introduction to Engineering and Computer Technologies
CST 1201-Programming Fundamentals
PHYS 1433-Physics 1.2
ENG 1101 - English Composition I</p>

<p>By the end of this summer I will have 100 hours of interning and volunteering each. I will do extra circular activities once I get into the college. (I am aiming to become a high position in a robotics, or tech related club.) I am attempting a one year transfer into syracuse or stony brook. I know I can get a 4.0+ GPA, from what I have seen from the school so far... If I can get a 4.0 will that be good enough? :/</p>

<p>Is this good for enough for Syracuse or stony brook? I am not sure if they will give me calculus I, but I have gotten a 92 on the trigonometry regents and I have taken a full year of pre calculus in high school. Will that be enough for them to give me calculus? If I get pre calculus instead will that mess up my chances for stony brook or syracuse? I want to get into those schools so I can try to go to Cornell :/ It is a dream but I will try.</p>

<p>For Stonybrook, if you can get atleast 3.5 GPA, you have a very good chance of getting transferred there. Syracuse shouldn’t be that bad at all either. Again anything above 3.5 GPA is excellent to transfer to stony or syracuse. However, Cornell is extremely selective and it will take more than just a 4.0 GPA to make it. You gotta give them a good reason why you want to go to Cornell in your essay and saying because “it’s an Ivy League” won’t cut it. You gotta show them not only you can maintain that 4.0 but you can also do other amazing things. I’m glad you want to change your life around and goodluck :)</p>
