Chances! For the Biological Sciences major

I would LOVEto attend UCB, but obviously it's very competitive...so chance me?

My major is Biological Sciences (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology)

My top schools are quite ambitious: Duke, Columbia, Washu, JHU, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Northwestern, and NYU.

AFTER 1st semester senior year:

GPA:
W: 4.49
UW: 3.89

ACT:
34 (35 English, 35 Math, 34 Reading, 32 Science)
11 in Writing

AP Exams:
Biology: 5
Chemistry: 5
Calc BC: 5
English Lit. and Comp: 4
(Will take Physics, Macro, Micro, and Spanish Lang)

This year I'm taking Calculus 3 through University of Illinois, as well as all other AP Classes.

I have OK EC's. Only remarkable thing I've done is volunteer is a third world country's hospital.

Other EC’s:
Ran Track and Field Freshman and Sophmore year
Member of BPA (made state)
Member of TARC
Volunteer (a couple hundred hours)
Tutor (inside and outside school)

My essay's are very personal to where I come from and how I was raised. I can attach if asked for it. Those who have read mine really liked them

I'm a foreign born, white female. (I was born and raised in Albania)

You do realize that Berkeley financial aid does not cover the non-resident additional tuition of about $23,000 per year, right? Although Illinois has relatively expensive in-state public schools and mediocre in-state financial aid, attending one as an Illinois resident will almost certainly cost less than attending Berkeley, which may be important if you are pre-med or want to major in something like biology that has relatively low pay job prospects at graduation.

Biology majors are in the College of Letters and Science, which does not admit by major. Admitted frosh who attend will enter undeclared, to declare their majors after completing the prerequisites.

Friend of mine has similar stats as yours, though slightly weaker. Couldn’t get into CS as it’s more competitive. But he wanted UCB so he chose geology and got in.

Ahhh that puts it into perspective more! Any more opinions?

Yes, you have a chance…why are people still posting chance threads when you’ve already sent in your application? There’s nothing you can do at this point but wait, so don’t stress out.
