Your academics are nothing special, at best, for Princeton. Since you do not stand out with those, you’d have to rely on your E.C and accolades. You appear to have very little E.C., which lowers your chances even more (not looking good.) Finally, your accolades are obviously clearly exaggerated which will be frowned upon by admissions. If I were you, I’d save the application money to apply to a different school. Depending on where you are from, the state school would be appropriate for you(unless UVA, Mich, UNC or a UC.) All in all, if you want a chance of getting in, I suggest you pray that they misread your transcript.

^^^
abettertitum…after reading your post, I was like “whoa do I suck as bad as he says” but then I searched your other posts. Ummm, it seems like you just post on chance threads to tell people they have no chance no matter how strong of an applicant they are. Don’t get me wrong, I am open to negative feedback, which is a major reason I made this thread. But ya, I think your post may have been sarcastic.

Saugus-
Thanks, I was just deferred from yale so ya I am rly praying hard for pton (which is and always has been my first choice school). Also, I’m glad you liked my essays = D.

Your stats are competitive for Princeton though many applicants will have similar stats. The edge I can see you having is the fact that you’re from Nebraska.

a. Shouldn’t you take 3 SAT subject tests? I’m not the highest authority but I heard 3 SAT IIs are required for Princeton. I can very well be wrong though.
b. Why are you not submitting your 35 ACT score? 35 is extremely good.

Princeton no longer requires 3 SAT subject tests, it’s now 2. They changed it for this cycle. I might have applied last year if they had changed it then…

send the 35…it’s very impressive. esp since you don’t have many APs. there are applicants scoring 32 who are LOADED with APs (and supposedly huge amounts of knowledge bc of the advanced curriculum. your 35 shows that even though you don’t have many APs available, you have a significant mastery of the concepts you were taught in high school. send it. you can’t lose with sending it. and do you really want to play the “what if?” game in April if things don’t work out?

if your essays were outstanding and a window into your soul, i’d say you have a good chance. don’t underestimate the importance of an essay. i think that’s your key.

I think he has a good chance regardless of whether his essays were phenomenal.

I don’t think sending the ACT score will make any impact. I don’t understand why he took both.

Lack of APs might be the only thing that might possibly hold him back, but as long as the counselor checks “most rigorous” course load, he should be okay.

Any update? Did you take another SAT Subject like I had suggested?

Randombetch- Ya, I am taking the Math 2 this Jan. As for the lack of APs, I took all of them that my rural NE school offered. (After this year, I will have taken 7 of them). Additionally, I made a note that I am self studying AP Physics B, as my school doesnt offer anything beyond physics. Though, after looking at the results thread, I really have grown doubtful regarding my potential admission to pton.

haha sry I actually did know that newest newb. In all honesty, I was copying and pasting from a previous thread. I plan on getting an certificate in finance if I am blessed with the opportunity to enroll at pton.

Honestly, I have too few credentials to give an extremely valuable opinion, but…

1) you’re from nebraska. GREAT DIVERSITY!
2) you maxed out your school’s curriculum, and are going above and beyond studying physics. you shouldn’t be hurt by the number of AP’s you’ve taken, as you’ve done all you could
3) Your standardized tests are phenomenal, as I’m sure you know.
4) your EC’s, even for princeton, are great.
5) work experience in addition to course rigor, in addition to great EC’s? yet another plus.

I hope your essays are good!

I obviously can’t say for sure, but I’d say you have at least a good chance!
