Hi, I'm applying for the Lawrenceville School for 9th grade as a day student. (I heard that getting in as a day student is harder than as a boarding student? Is this true?)

Grades:
Algebra II Honors: B+ (first quarter), B (second quarter). Also, this is my second time taking it, as I took an online CTY course last summer and got a B+.
Science: A, A
Language Arts: A, A
History: A, A
Spanish: B+, A-

The second quarter hasn't ended yet, so my grades might go up or down from here. I'm predicting that my math grade will go down to maybe a B- or C+. My grades were 7th and 6th grade were pretty good, but I had a C+ last year in one quarter for Algebra I Honors (this is my lowest grade overall).

Extra-curriculars:
Scenario writing (3 years): A writing competition. In 6th grade, I placed first in the United States and third in the world. (This is my main hook, so... )
Future Problem Solving (3 years): My team has placed 2nd in the state and in the top ten several times.
Science Olympiad (2 years): I haven't actually competed before, but in a week or so, I have a regional competition, and I'm the only person on the team with three events.
Publishing Club (2 years): Mainly writing/editing articles for our school newspaper.
Cello (4 years): I'm in the top chamber group in my school, and also in a regional orchestra (the second best out of three).
Tennis (5 years): Non-competitive.
Art lessons (3 years): Watercolor paintings. Should I assemble a portfolio (also including photos; see below)? And if so, should I send it directly to the school or give it at my interview?
Skiing (4 years?): I can ski really well, but I haven't competed in any competitions.
Chinese School (9 years): I can speak, read, and write fluently.
MathCounts (1 year): A math competition, but the team hasn't been chosen yet (I don't think I'll be on it).
Science Bowl (1 year): Same with MathCounts.
Photography (2 years?): Only a hobby, though I've done a few contests.
Cross Country (1 year)
Library volunteering (1 year)

Recommendations:
I think they should be pretty good (not very sure about math, though?). I also have additional recommendations from other teachers.

SSAT:
I haven't taken the SSAT yet (taking it on the 8th of January), but I've taken a few practice tests and have generally 730-750 for verbal, 790-800 for math, and 710-730 for reading, and 2200ish overall. Is this good? Also, do you have any tips for the test day?

Interview:
I haven't had it yet. I think it should probably go okay. Once again, any advice?

Essay/Questions:
I'm pretty confident in my questions, and I would definitely say that my essay is, well, original... Still working on these.

I would appreciate any advice on the overall admission process. Thanks a lot!
