chances for The University of Chicago

hi, im a junior in high school right now and considering the university of chicago. here is my profile and plz give me your advices and/or opinion.

GAP (weighted) 4.1 - 4.2
SAT: 1480 (with writing) 1080 (reading and math), the reason i did SO BAD is cuz i was in the school economics team and i spent all my time study for the contest, i found out im really good in eco! we got second place in my state.

ACT: just got it yesterday, a 26, much better than i expected, cuz i kept getting 23 when i practice at home, hopefully next time i can get close to 30. i got 99% in the math section but terrible in english.

i have taken many honors math class, but didn't take any on science until this year( honors chem, which have an A right now )

i guess i didnt' have much confident in myself when i was in 8th grade, so i didn't pick too much honors classes for 9th grade, and now im trying to catch up.

im rank top 6% in my school, i will take all honors and AP classes next year, see if i can bump to top 5%

im in many clubs: science, math, german, Mu Alpha Theta, national honor society, i also tutor math.

i volunteer at my local nursing home every weekend. didn't have too many outside school activities cuz i help my parent at our restaurant.

i know my SAT and ACT aren't the greatest, but im not a native english speaker (i have chinese language background), do u think college will loosen up a little? how about the University of Chicago? do u think i have some chances to get in? if not, what other schools should i consider?

ty for reading and your help!!!!!!

Umm .. it would depend on your math score, but I think if your math score is 600+ you might stand a chance. I would still say UChicago is a reach though.

In the application process for UChicago, essays do play a larger role than most universities. That being said, you as a non-native speaker, are you a fair (well good) writer? I'm not saying you aren't, SATs are definitely not a reflection of ones abilities.

none really. Im not trying to destroy your dreams, but i would say writing/english is much more important to Chicago than math.
Admissions are super dependent on how well you can write, and your gpa. And it seems to be that your GPA does not accurately express your linguistic intelligence.

ide say, raise ur stats up quite a bit and you can.
You must somewhere probably around a 30 or 31 act
or a 1350+ SAT (math and CR) with at least 600 cr.
