<p>Do I have a shot at any of the schools in the top 25 range, such as the lower ivys georgetown or northwestern? Also what about the top liberal arts colleges, I havent looked too much in to them but people tell me I should.
I think my act is pretty good but am worried about my gpa. My softs seem decent but no big hook</p>
<p>HJmustangs is correct, my D graduated with 3.9875 (one B) with 4.56 Weighted GPA, note IB and pleased that she is starting college this year with 45 semester credits. Your GPA and few AP classes has little chance for the top colleges.
Note, my son graduated 4/11 at a small school, with a BS Engineering Physics. We are pleased he actually has a real job, oil and gas, top colleges doesnt necessarily translate to good jobs.</p>
<p>So your only goal is to get into a “top” school? The universities you mention are all very different, as are the LACs (and the universities are very different from the LACs). In my experience kids who are only going for status wind up very disappointed. If I were you I would start examining the programs some of these schools offer, and hone in on some that “click” with your academic and other interests. You also haven’t said what your family is able to pay, which might make a difference in where you should apply. I’d also suggest that you add a few more accessible schools to your list, but maybe you are planning on doing that and just didn’t say so here.</p>
<p>yeah I was just trying to add a reach school or 2 and wasnt sure which one I had the best shot at.
This definitely isnt my whole list. So you guys think I shouldnt apply to any of these?</p>
