So what are my chances of receiving the acceptance letter from my dream schools?

Btw I have to serve 2 years of National Service(army), I would be 20 years old and hopefully a Lieutenant then.

Stanford is a reach for everyone.
Using your current SAT score:
UCLA/UCB: Reach ( They could be high matches if your get that 2200)

I really hope they would consider my A level grades given my mediocre writing. Should have studied for it but i was too busy writing my Physics research paper.

Some colleges accept minimal transfer students, especially international students. Are you prepared to pay full fees? There is no funding for international students.

I am applying as a freshman, to clarify any misunderstanding. SG junior colleges are ‘high schools’ that offer A Level similar to the IB. It is the British college entrance exam which is significantly harder than US high school curriculum. Treat me as a British student with Chinese background applying to the US.

Even as a freshman admit, your SAT is too low for those schools. The filters start with SAT scores and GPA’s. It’s about stats first.

I agree your SAT is too low and those majors are super competitive.

Aw man. I have to polish my reading and writing. English is not my first subject. Perhaps i spent too much time on Chinese. Do varsity teams recruit new athletes?

I had a friend from Singapore who I interned with (in a Silicon Valley Startup  ); he goes to NUS at the moment and was on some exchange program, but made CMU, Berkeley, and UCLA when he applied to American colleges. He had a 1920 SAT. His number one recommendation was to take the ACT instead. He got a 35 on that. The curriculum in Singapore prepares you a lot better for the ACT (no curriculum really prepares you for the SAT), so I would suggest giving that a shot before you apply.

Good luck!

Thanks, I will take both tests and hope everything works out.
