Hi guys, I'm a junior planning on applying to MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Berkeley (OOS - hoping for scholarships), Michigan (OOS - hoping for scholarships), and Cornell to pursue a major in engineering (EE to be specific).

I was wondering if you could give me an idea of where I stand with regards to the applicant pool.

(Don't worry - I'm not expecting to get into any of these schools, and I'm applying to a couple of in-state matches/safety schools : ))

Stats/Info:

SAT I: 2340 (800 R, 760 M, 780 W)
SAT II: Math 800 (going to take physics in May, expecting at least 780ish)
AP/IB:

I'm an IB diploma candidate, and all of my tests are next year. However, I took AP Calc BC last year and got a 5 - I'm in IB Math HL this year. I'll be taking Multivariable calc over the summer and then starting on Linear Algebra in the fall.

UW GPA: 3.99
Rank: Probably will be something like 5/500
Race/Ethnicity: Asian (Indian)
State: OR
Income: Around $120,000

Major Awards: Some small random local awards at math competitions and music festivals, nothing major. I did qualify for the AIME and got a 5 after getting a 105 on the AMC 12, but I don't think this is significant

Current ECs: Math Club (4 yrs, president), FIRST robotics (3 yrs, build lead), Engineering physics club (2 yrs, treasurer), NHS (1 yr), playing the cello (6 yrs)

I think I've made a pretty decent impact on the clubs I'm involved in, especially in math club - our club was disorganized and I helped refocus our efforts and rebuild our club's foundation.

Current Volunteering/Work: Working as a tutor in math (1 yr), volunteering at a local organization that promotes science (I'm working on a project with the engineers there this summer - I don't want to specify more and give away potentially identifying information)

I'm feeling a bit discouraged after looking at some of the results threads this year, so I'd also appreciate it if you guys had any feedback on other good engineering schools : D
