My SAT scores are the one thing that is really hindering my application. It is kind of too late to take it now; however, what would you say my chances are Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Yale, MIT? I know this might sound cocky but my backups are Cornell, Brown, and UCLA. Please let me know what's in reach and match

^Cornell and UCLA may be backups, but Brown surely is not.

Your SAT is fine. UCLA and perhaps Cornell are really the only backups. You have a great shot everywhere though. Good luck!!

Good chance at the schools on your list, but it will really come down to the essays.

Oh I forgot…

Chance me?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1085617-final-chance-thread-because-i-know-gets-annoying.html

Hey ■■■■■,
great stats, though I have seen better. A senior from my school had much better stats than you, but got denied from a few of these schools.
You have a chance, but for some reason I feel you have a very subtle concieted attitude, so that lessens your chances…
You should have had more safeties because these schools are very unpredictable…

I think you’ll prob get into at least one of those schools, but I sure hope you applied to another truly safe school. None of those backups are guaranteed at all and reject people with yours and even better stats every year!

Your SATs fine if you have great essays/recs.

But, where’s your leadership?

I am captain of science olympiad, math team, co-captain of soccer team, and vice president of Key Club and secretary of NHS. I am also concertmaster of orchestra if that counts.

I think my recs and essays were good but there is a level of subjectivity in saying that so I can’t be certain.

Scholarbound, what were your friends stats? Also, you use the word conceited way too much, you should really try to mix it up your vocabbage.

Anyone else?

I applied to one other backup but to other schools such as Upenn and stuff, but those aren’t my top choices so I didn’t list them.

Wow, You have great stats my friend!
You are bound to get into at least one school of your choice, but as ScholarBound has said, these schools are very unpredictable, but it is good that you have some back-ups and safeties.
I sense some tension between you and ScholarBound (even though he wrote concieted once haha)…
Good luck!

lol i am also drawn to the conclusion that you, FamousCon are the same person as Scholarbound ;)

You spell concieted wrong just like “him”

You guys both have nearly same stats and backgrounds (as mentioned in Scholarbound chance thread)

You have referenced Scholarbound in almost every post in this thread and Scholarbound’s chance thread

Not an insult or anything, just an inference. =)

Anyone else? I know these schools are highly unpredictable but there does seem to be some kind of formula into getting in - maybe I’m wrong.

So all smart Hispanic people who live in NY are the same? lol
Honestly I defiantly see where you are coming from, but we AREN’T the same person… seriously.
Anyway good luck on your college endeavors
mind chancing me?

Haha he said conceited once. Also learn how to properly use the word “inference.”

Wow… those are pretty good stats! Lots of awards and SAT IIs. Although you say your SAT I is “low” I think it’s fine!

You’re definitely in at UCLA and have a decent shot at Cornell and Brown. HPSYM is a crapshoot, but I think you stand a good chance.

I wish I had your stats. :[
