I spend a lot of time volunteering for JDRF - juvenile diabetes research foundation because I am a type 1 diabetic. I participate in the JDRF walk to cure diabetes and I host a garage sale every year in which all $$$ goes to JDRF. Overall I have made over $10,000.

Can I use diabetes as a hook?
I will probably write my essays on it

I can't think of anything else, so what do you guys think?

quick note: No ED @ Stanford, just SCEA.

Also, diabetes is not a hook, but u could talk about how much of an impact it has had on you and how u have tried to make a difference

Otherwise, strong candidate and hope for the best

That’s what I meant about Stanford; I don’t think there are any private schools I’d rather go EA at. And that is the plan for the diabetes. I know it’s not a hook because it cannot be favored against someone without it in the admissions process.
