Hi
I am a 27 year old student currently completing my bachelors at my state school. I dropped out after my sophomore year due to financial trouble since I have worked several jobs mostly mean jobs and my last stint was being a self employed derivatives trader, I was making six figures before returning to college. I was previously majoring in electrical engineering as opposed to business now. I really want to go to a top tier MBA PROGRAM, which are the programs where I stand a chance?
I would complete my bachelors at 28. My GPA is 3.6. I would likely to graduate with cum laude. I would take GMAT over summer. I AM DOING REALLY WELL on reading and writing sections on prep tests. Most places I worked aren’t worth mentioning on the resume, but I have worked in a high school for a year managing staff and accounts. My last held job was being self employed derivatives trader as stated above, which I am really good at. My extracurricular s include playing golf, travelling, reading and having a good time.
Impossible even to speculate without a GMAT score
Not to offend anyone, MBA application to a top tier school and being a self employed derivative trader can be dicey. Though it is a meaningful job experience, it is not like you worked in a major brokerage or investment firm like Blackrock. Hopefully you have a great compelling story in you application essay.
If you are doing so well trading on your own, why do an MBA?
UCBUSCalum is correct. You need a compelling story to state why you need an MBA which most top tier schools ask in their applications.
