Chances for top tier schools!

I'm interested in Georgetown, Columbia, Middlebury, Dartmouth, BC, and Hamilton as of now.

I'm a junior at an all girls private school in NYC (very good, sends many grads to top schools each year). My GPA is considered high and so is my course-load.

BUMP! Please, anyone?

i have not taken the SAT n i definitely do not know what a high one is
you’re grade is below average the people that is applying there.
your ec’s are good. more would be better.

i would love to try and give an estimate on your chances…but you are a junior. as junior year is the most important… i cant give a good chance.
BUT i can give advice! i suggest retaking those SATs as a 2100 is a tad on the low side (by no means bad…it just wont give you an edge). that, and DO MORE EC’S. thats going to hurt you if thats it. and with those ec’s, try for more leadership.
also keep up your grades this year. it looks like you’re doing that already though!
good luck this year!

Bump!

I forgot to add a couple clubs, and I have a leadership position in Mock Trial, too.

Also, my grades might seem below average, but my school is really respected and those are the highest grades you can really get if you want to do ECs and have a social life, too.

Bump!!!

I can’t give you any chances for now, but sounds like you’re on right track. Keep up the good work.

Work on getting As and maybe even retaking the SAT, or trying the ACT. Rank is good if you’re in top 10%, but ECs aren’t overly-amazing (nice work experience though!), but essays will be super important. Good luck!

Chance back please:

Your best info will come from your school, they all keep very detailed data.

The big problem from a NY prep is everyone applies to the same schools and there’s only so many NY prepsters each wants. So you will be compared to your classmates and those from similar schools–a highly accomplished bunch!

Also keep in mind that there are boatloads of ivy legacies you’re competing against in your pool.

The first thing I’d say is try to raise your scores. 2100 is quite low in this very competitive pool as are your SATlls. After that focus on writing great essays and choosing your rec writters well.

With current scores BC and Hamilton look good. Good luck!
