i'm currently a freshman at umass amherst. i did not do very well in high school, and only had about a 3.0, yet i worked hard my first semester at college and had a 3.4. I'm a political science major, is there any chance for me?

I don't think it is that competitive to transfer but they usually don't have transfer housing so that might be a problem if you don't know anyone and have to live off campus.

i forgot my SATs...

verbal-610
math-580
writing-650

sat2s-
lit - 640
math - 620

wait, so there's no housing for sophomores? i mean...just because i'd be a transfer wouldnt make me any less of a student and in need of housing ha.

Sophomores will get housing if they came in as freshmen, but definitely find out about transfer housing if that is important to you; I know someone who got in as a transfer this semester but decided not to go bc no housing for transfers. SUNY New Paltz also doesn't give housing to transfers right now, but SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Albany do.
