Chances for Transfer?

Hi, I'm from Berkeley and I'd like to know my chances for transferring into Columbia, Chicago, Penn, Cornell.

Freshman
Econ major
GPA: 3.9+
Active in two business clubs (Fall 2010)
Summer Internship (2010) at renowned bank
2 Spring Internships (2010) at firms in my home country
International Student
SAT I: 2200+
SAT II: 790+ for 3 subjects.

Thank you.

Very good for all the schools you listed.

You’re in ! haha congratz in advance

haha seriously?! i don’t wanna get my hopes too high… :S

i think you should be a little more specific regarding your stats. maybe give the break down of your SAT’s and also indicate WHICH subject tests you took. It also matters if you’re applyin for financial aid and whether you applied to these schools last year. Also, your hs gpa and ec’s come into play here.

i’d also like to commend your “3.9+” at UCB. i heard they were deflators out there

critical reading 700-750
math 750-800
writing 650-700

i took math physics and chemistry.

I’m international so my hs doesn’t use a gpa system. but i did pretty decent in my high school. I applied for cornell and chicago last year, but not to penn and columbia. hope my clarification clears things up!

You have the grades, but you’ll need the ECs, and what you have is unclear. As is why your SAT score is presented as a range. Huge difference at these schools between a 700 and a 750.

We’re you rejected from Cornell and Chicago?

yes i was rejected from Cornell and Chicago.

CR: 740
M: 800
Writing: 680

Are you applying for financial aid?

Somebodyy, you shouldn’t really listen to CC’ers most of them will love to tell you that you have no chance when you actually have a quite decent chance. However, some of CC’ers are logical towards the chancing stuff. You definitely stand a great chance and that’s a fact not even an opinion so good luck with your apps. I’m International and I’m majoring in Econ. too !

Can somebody chance me please. I’m a freshman at Mt. SAC which is a CCC. I just want to see if I am doing good so far. I want to transfer to UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cal Poly SLO, or USC.

Major: Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
GPA: 3.7 hope to get it to 3.8 by the end of the semester.
EC’s: Alpha Gamma Sigma (Honors Society), Engineering Club, Student Government, Hospital Volunteer, Homeless Shelter Volunteer, and I have a job working in a Industrial/Manufacturing Facility which makes and distributes parts for aircraft. I also plan on taking honors classes next year.

So far how am I doing and what else should I do to be competitive?

nope i’m not applying for financial aid.

Pretty good in that case.
