Chances for Transfer?

Hey all, i posted this in another thread in the transfer forum, but thought i might get some more responses here especially from some current students. Im applying for next spring so ill have another semesters worth of grades that will hopefully help. Im a little worried from what ive read about the 6% acceptance rate at CAS for transfers this year; I really want to transfer and NYU is my top choice.

New York University
College of Arts and Sciences
currently a freshman
Transfer term: Spring 2008
Current School: Top 20 LAC
Highschool GPA- 3.7 (good day school -->top boarding school)
Current College GPA: 3.84 (probably 3.75 or 3.8 after this semester, at worst 3.72)
Rank 46th / 524 (top 10%)
SAT1:1510

ECs:HS
National Honor Society (HS)
Ap Scholar w/ distinction
3rd Place st. Science fair
4 Year Varsity Athlete (2 sports), volunteer club president
1A state quiz bowl champ

:College:
Varsity Crew 1st Boat (24 hrs/ week with only 2 weeks off during school)
Deans list

Brazilian Jiu JItsu/ Submission wrestling (4 years, have competed at a national level)

Work
Asst. Instructor in Modern Army Combatives, US. Army
- Level II certified instructor, helped train apprx. 3500 national
guard soldiers for deployment to iraq over three months.
( apparantly largest civilian training contract ever), multiple
MAC training courses for regular army and rangers
- 2 awards of merit, U.S. Army

I feel like this is (as an extension of my BJJ/sub. wrestling training) probably my strongest "unique" point, or at least what im most proud of

thanks everybody

As CAS had an admit rate of 6% for this upcoming, the number of spring slots will be ultimately dependent on how many students are offered, ultimately accept, to study abroad for the fall and then join NYU in the spring.

I don't think you should have a problem as your stats are above average. Your also coming from a top LAC college; NYU recommend students to take several liberal arts courses.

Btw, did you apply last year?

does anybody know the average admit rate of stern for transfers? (sorry if i'm hijacking the thread)

ronp, i didnt apply last year (which would have been from hs), had a few friends that did.

anybody else?
