Chances for transferring

Hello everyone,

I am looking to transfer out of my 4 year state school and into a different university next fall. I'm a sophomore with a 3.2 GPA right now at my state university and was wondering what places I should shoot for. I'm from Seattle, WA and location is not really an issue for me. I'm also a business major.

My high school stats were pretty bad -I had around a 3.0 GPA (unweighted) at the end of high school. However, I would be transferring at or around a junior level and most of the places I have looked into say they won't really look at my high school transcript because of the amount of credits I have in college, and I don't even have to send my SAT scores to most of them.

My budget is not really an issue, obviously cheaper is better but when I want to transfer into the best schools I can I won't turn down a good school because of it's cost.

Here is my list so far, tell me if I have a chance at any of these:

University of Washington
Seattle University
Pepperdine University
Northeastern University
Boston University
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
University of Miami (possibly)

Also, are my chances significantly less to the out of state public schools such as UNC compared to the private schools I mentioned?

Thanks in advance

I remade my list after further research:

University of Washington (legacy)
Seattle University (legacy)
Pepperdine University
Northeastern University
Boston University
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
Wake Forest University
Boston College (legacy)

Any input?

I would like to hear some input for this as well

I think your GPA is kind of low for many, if not most, of those schools. Do you have good ECs or something else that will make up for it? I suggest you look into these schools transfer admissions standards a little bit more. I don’t know anything about the west coast schools on your list but from what I know of the eastern ones you will have some trouble with a 3.2GPA.
