Hey there Azn--

Well, the first thing I have to say is that you should be very proud of yourself for your academic achievements in face of what you referred to as an ongoing illness. I will admit that before I read that part, I did flinch at your GPA and rank. However, your SAT scores are good, as are your AP exam scores (a 5 in Calc BC is fab!), so I do think that the adcom will be able to see that you are capable of great things. That being said, Tufts is still a reach. However, if your essays are really great, I think the adcom will warm up to you. Your wanting to be a doctor is reinforced by your hospital internship and EMT certification, which is great. Are you interested in the biomedical engineering program?

P.S. I'm a senior at Tufts.

How tough is your high school? Do a lot of students go to college? To selective colleges? I think if you make your disease clear to the admissions office (or even better, make it a great essay) you have a decent shot.
