Chances for Tulane, Carthage, Union, or BW...I will chance back

Trying to get my ideas of my chances at

My GPA is a 4.0 uw, 4.4 w
I took AP Psych, AP Lang, APUSH, and a college class through Univ. of Pittsburgh
next year will take AP Gov, AP Calc, AP Stats
The rest of my schedule was honors or highest available
ACT of 34(first and only try)
PSAT 211

1000 hours of community service
2nd place in the state in PFD(well, my partner and i)-I am wiling to debate in college if that helps my chanced
3 time national tournament qualifier in PFD

I think that's it...

If you have any idea the chances i have at getting money at any of these institutions-that would be great....I am planning on double majoring in Neuroscience and Tech Theatre..

I will chance back if you leave a link!!!

oh…and if you don’t think these schools are right(i realize tulane might be a stretch)…can you suggest other good ones
i really need to figure out how exactly to set my sights…

THanks again

bumpity bump bump
i forgot…i’m in NHS…i know…that means like nothing

your a very strong candidate for all those schools

I think you can afford to shoot for something a little higher. Your 4.0 GPA is of course impressive. ACT is very good. Your ECs are so-so, however…

Except for Union (which I think you will get in), I am not all that familiar with the schools you have listed…but still, I think you are in good shape for most schools.

I don’t see how tulane would be a stretch at all…

Perhaps I’m missing something too, but I agree with athlete1010 in that I don’t see how Tulane would be stretch. TU has become much more competitive these past two years after all those high school kids came down to New Orleans to help after Katrina and fell in love with the city. Rergardless of that, your ACT is great (34), high class rank is great, and you have good EC’s. I know evilspartan said that your EC’s were so-so. I disagree. I think on this forum people like to list like 20 things for their EC. Well, if you have time for that many EC’s, you didn’t go to a competitive highschool or must have not been THAT active in any one of your EC’s. If you were the editor of the yearbook, on the newspaper staff, and did debate (not to mention work at Dairy Queen) , I don’t see how you would be supposed to have any more EC’s. That is unless you never went to class. So everything looks really good. I’m not sure about the others specifically, but you have a great shot at Tulane (with some money probably thrown your way) and I’m sure all of the others. Best of Luck!

^^^thanks…
its so hard because everyone on here is just so impressive…
some have started their own business, or done research…
that’s why i don’t want to be unrealistiic…
there are just so many amazing kids…and i don’t want to be disappointed

I have to agree with most of the other posts and say that you are likely aiming too low. While I understand not wanting to be disappointed, I’m sure you could aim considerably higher without making any sort of reach. Of the schools you listed, I’m only familiar with Tulane, as others have been, and Carthage which I live near and I promise you that there is no way that you will be rejected by either one, certainly not by carthage. Great job and keep it up

youre in dude… i am a former debator myslef… and that will make you stand out… your acts are solid and your grades are awesome… please chance me

I’m going to agree and say that you’re aiming too low! Of course, if you’ve fallen in love with one of these schools don’t let us talk you out of it. You have excellent chances at all of these schools, and I would be very surprised if you didn’t get in. Try adding some reaches!

Honestly, you will probably get into all these schools.

What about Carnegie Mellon? They’re a great science school and their theatre department is incredible. You have the stats to get in and it seems like a good fit. You could consider their BSA program: [BXA Interdisciplinary Degree Programs - BSA Program](<a href=“BSA Program - BXA Intercollege Degree Programs - Carnegie Mellon University”>BSA Program - BXA Intercollege Degree Programs - Carnegie Mellon University)

It allows you to receive a major in two very different disciplines, though you might have to explain how the two connect.

Would you chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/941956-will-chance-back-yale-nyu-middlebury-etc.html</a></p>

tulane would be no stretch at all. With your academics and rigor of course work, you seem like a very strong candidate. I disagree with rocket6louise and strongly agree with benetode. You seem unsure of the type of school you are looking for though. Do you know what you want in a college. I am very familiar with union as I used to live in the area. It’s a great school that does a lot for the community and is very strong in the sciences and social sciences. I’m unsure what your financial situation is, but Union does have a hefty pricetag. If you are looking for schools competitive with Union I would look at F&M, Skidmore, Vassar, etc. You seem to be able to shoot for even higher than Union though and seem fluid and strong through your high school years.

Chance Me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/981857-chances-getting-skidmore-union-f-m-chance-me-ill-chance-you.html</a></p>

tulane isent a stretch for you, and if it helps, my friend got in that had a lower GPA but he did an interview. interviews usually help a lot.

chance me please!
