Chances for UC Davis

So I'm a junior in high school and I wanted to know if anyone could give me an approximation as to whether UC Davis is a good shot for me. Some of this is approximation considering I'm not a senior yet. I'm trying to get good enough at crew to get recruited as well. I'm half Irish Half Spanish (my dad was born in spain, I have duel citizenship does this help?)

Overall HS GPA: 3.2
I'm at one of the highest ranked high schools in the country (top 20). Does anyone know if this makes a real difference?
APS: (haven't taken any tests yet, these are the classes I am/am going to take)

AP EURO
AP ECON
AP AB CALC
AP CHEM
AP SPAN

Guess on SAT:
700 Math
730 Writing
730 Crit Reading

Extras:
Debate Club Member
Kenpo Karate for 12 Years
Varsity Crew - Captain Senior Year - 3 Years on Varsity
Varsity XC - 2 years
Job working on wineries in Spain during the summer - no pay <-- Comm Serv?
150 Hours of Comm Serv
Work at Church each summer in Comm Serv

Citizenship most likely won’t have an impact unless it’s not having one for the United States, which then would have a negative effect on your admission. The quality of your highschool will count though, and it’ll definitely help clarify any issues with grading. What is your rank/ % by the way?
If your SAT predictions are accurate I’d say you have a very good shot at UC Davis.

I agree you have a good shot at getting in goodluck can u chance me back thank you

by those stats, high match. that 3.2 is killing your transcript but hopefully your school is as difficult as you say it is.

my apush teacher’s husband is a uci admissions officer. he came and told us that ucs don’t actually focus on exact numbers: they use how you compare against your peers at school (i’m assuming through percentiles), e.g. sat, gpa, and rank. he said that our true competition are our own classmates (but it’s important that regardless we have solid stats overall). anyway, your sat is exceptional. how is your rank?

by the way, if it’s not too personal, what did you do during your winery volunteering? sounds interesting!

Are you in-state or out-of-state? It makes a huge difference.

Your GPA is low for Davis, but your SAT score is slightly higher than what most people accepted at Davis have. I agree with JelloBiafra and the fact that class rank is very influential for UCs. The salutatorian at an uncompetitive school is preferred over the 50th best student at a very highly ranked high school because colleges expect more from you if you go to a superb school with better opportunities. UCs have a very particular way of re-calculating your GPA so this may or may not help you, but realize that most colleges mostly use GPA to compare people from the same school. A guy with a 4.0 at one school isn’t equally capable as some guy who has a 4.0 from another school.

if you are going to get that high on SATs you should be fine.

The only hindrance to your gaining admission is your GPA. Other than that, you’re a suitable candidate.
