So what are my chances? This is target school.

Your test scores are very, very low the UCs. I would call this a reach, not a target school.

Also, if you’re a Questbridge scholar, I assume you’re low income? The UCs do NOT give aid to OOS students. Even if you got in, you would need to come up with 50k+/year.

“Percent and number of first-time, first-year (freshman) students enrolled in Fall 2011 who submitted national standardized (SAT/ACT) test scores. Include information for ALL enrolled, degree-seeking, first-time, first-year (freshman) students who submitted test scores. Do not include partial test scores (e.g., mathematics scores but not critical reading for a category of students) or combine other standardized test results (such as TOEFL) in this item. Do not convert SAT scores to ACT scores and vice versa. The 25th percentile is the score that 25 percent scored at or below; the 75th percentile score is the one that 25 percent scored at or above.”

You’d be in if you were in state, don’t know how admissions work for those out-of-state. Based on your ethnicity, EC’s and grades, an admissions officer would have to be drunk and high in order to reject you.

I think you may have chance. I also hoped that you applied to some privates. There are allot of schools that would love to give you merit aid. Good luck. UC are a crap shoot, even for the best qualified kids.

Besides your OOS status I don’t see why UCSB shouldn’t admit you. You’re school involvement us very good and your test score is very decent. I got a 24 on the ACT but I was still invited to the UCSB Chancellor reception on Saturday and was admitted. Good luck! :D

yeah your scores are definitely not “very, very low”
i got these stats from the ucsb page so yeah…
The academic quality of UCSB’s applicant pool, as measured by grades and test scores, remains strong. Of the 54,807 applicants for the entering class, 17,128, or 31 percent, have a high-school Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 or higher.
The average GPA of all freshman applicants is 3.72.
The average total score on the three-part SAT exam is 1,748 (down 19 points from last year). The SAT average among all applicants to UC was down 22 points.

your application seems pretty solid, I think you do have a proper shot. But there’s not much you can do now anyways, decisions get posted in 2 days so good luck!
