Chances for UCB and stanford

Hey CC'ers!!!!!! =)

i just finished sophmore year and i wanted to know if i was still in the running (academics alone standpoint) for UCLA, UCB, and Stanford.

i have a 3.6 unweighted, my counseler said that if i get all A's junior and senior year, i might make it up to a 3.87 unweighted.

Four of my classes are AP/Honors, and two are regular( math and sci.)

first two AP's: euro and pysch, 3 on both.

planning on taking six more AP's and i will probably have at least maybe one or even two regular classes for jun. and sen. year. everything else will be AP/honors.

SAT's studying really hard, want at leas a 2300. have 6wks left with a current 2080, tell me if im being realistic or dreaming.

so yeah, i just wanted to know if the academic half of my app would make the cut for the three colleges mentioned above.

I don’t know about the other two, but your grades are too low for Stanford. If you pull a 4.0 this year you will be in the running, but it will still be on the low side.

buuuuuuuuuump, come on, anyone…

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help=)

Pulling a 2300 if you’re practice tests are <2100 seems quite unlikely. But with a 3.8 and a 2200, I think you pass the ‘academic barrier’ and you go on to the really hard part of subjective analysis. Good luck!

thanks, anyone else

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuump

If one simply looks at where you are today (GPA, SAT, AP), I would say that you have NO chance with Stanford, extremely limited chance with UCB, and very limited chance with UCLA, assuming you are from California.

where does a 4.1 UC GPA get you for the UC’s( which ones?)

how do i improve my chances for stanford?do i have to have some extradordianry EC? i dont have very many EC’s but the majority ones i do have are for about 2-3 years, and some more that.

Honestly, not to crush your dreams, but I don’t think you’re at all near Stanford qualifications. If I were you I would forget about Stanford altogether. Your grades/test scores are already definitely below the average, and for Stanford you need an extremely unique/personal criteria, which I don’t know you have.

Not to crush you’re dreams, Stanford isn’t for everyone, let alone 4.0/2400 valedictorians.

and even for UCB I would say you have a LOW chance of getting in.

UC Berkeley and UCLA maybe… Stanford is a long shot to be honest.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumup

Well you’d need great ECs/hooks if you you are able to get 2100+ and a 3.8+ to finish out high school. Unfortuantly its a reach and I’m in the same boat :(
