Test scores and ECs look good, but your GPA will make UCLA and Berkeley something of a reach, as it is for most, even with excellent overall records like yours.
I think you are a competitive applicant and you have a chance at all the UC’s on your list, but UCLA/UCB will be tough admits even with your solid SAT score and EC’s.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 (capped weighted) and not major specific:
GPA is pretty solid for most UC’s, and SAT is great. EC’s seem pretty good. GPA is on the low side for top UC’s though.
Did you apply to any other schools beside these UC’s? UCR, UCSC, UCM, CSU’s, privates, etc…?
Undecided will hinder your chances, but ACT and GPA seem solid enough. You seem to have good essays, but I can’t judge this.
UCB: reach
UCLA: reach
UCSD: low reach/ high match
UCSB: low reach/ high match - i think they focus more on essays and EC’s
UCI: high match/match
UCD: high match.match
UCSC: low match?
UCR: safety?
UCM: safety
Hopefully you have applied to safeties…
Good luck
I agree with SREE33. All UCs are within your range. UCSD, UCI, UCD, UCSB are solid matches for you, although junior year grades are somewhat low. None of your ECs seem very significant, so that will affect you in getting into UCB and UCLA.
Thank you all for the replies. But can you also mention about my chances for few privates? I’m also applying to Chapman, Claremont McKenna, Georgia Tech, University of the Pacific, USC, Stanford, and Occidental.
I think USC is in range for you as an undecided major, but it’s more selective than most people think. Stanford is a reach for everyone. The only other school on that list that I have personal knowledge of is Chapman. My nephew just graduated from there and I think his HS stats were not as good as yours, so its probably doable.
