For essay #1 I talked about how becoming a comedian and the comedy club I first went to in the beginning shaped me to become more confident and helped my self esteem. I talked about problems in school like bullying, and how stand up helped me overcome challenges both in home and school.
For essay #2 I talked about FRC and my experience being a robotics programmer. I talked a lot about how much I love problem solving and a tid bit of how I used concepts from Discrete Math class (I took two math classes junior year) then applied them to the real world of programming. I tried to show that I matured as a problem solver.

How much does ucd look into essays?

I applied as a math major for all UCs except Merced which I applied for computer engineering.

I really, really like UCD for their applied math program.

Would it matter if I’m Hispanic by the way?

I personally don’t think I have a good chance at all for UCD but it’s worth the shot. Thanks y’all.
