<p>I realize that these are probably reach schools, but I would appreciate any input!</p>

<p>GPA: 3.8 (hopefully 3.9 by time of application) 4.1 weighted</p>

<p>Test Scores
SAT 760 Reading; 710 Math; 680 Writing = 2150
ACT 32</p>

<p>EC's
-Football 4yrs
-President of Key Club, a volunteer club associated with Kiwanis International 2yrs. We're a small club (only had 3 people show for a meeting one time), but I'm hoping to turn it around this year. Maybe a success story will help me out
-1 year of Wrestling and Track. Meh
-I'm hoping to win some AP Scholar awards. I think my exam score are good enough to get a couple.</p>

<p>I know my EC's look weak, but I don't know what I could do senior year to make a meaningful improvement. I will probably join the debate team, and maybe even the model UN just for the experience, but I know colleges like to see commitment and not just resume boosters.</p>

<p>U of Chicago looks like a reach, esp with those sat scores and ec’s.</p>

<p>Chicago really focuses on the essays, so make sure you can really knock them out with your essays, as that can easily make up for the stats. Also, do you have any hooks? I knew this low income guy who got in this year with 2000 sats and 4.4GPA (which at my school is not that impressive)</p>

<p>Might look at Holy Cross(near Boston) and Villanova.</p>

<p>UChicago doesn’t look at the Writing section of the SAT thus your 1470/1600 puts you above average. Your ECs, however, are well below average. Luckily for you, UChicago puts a lot more emphasis on the essay so maybe you can redeem yourself there. </p>

<p>As of now it’s a mid reach.</p>
