So I’m applying to the CS major in the ICS school, not from the engineering school so I’m assuming it will be a little bit easier to get in?
Stats:
UW GPA: 4.0
UC GPA Weighted and Capped: 4.32
ACT Composite: 30
Sat Subject Tests: taking math 2 and physics in December
mainly asking for academic wise if I have a good shot, my ecs are plenty/good essays.
Also I’m a first generation college student if that helps with admissions.
Also how do I fare for other UCs like UCLA UCB UCSD UCR? Thank you!
Freshman admit rate for UC GPA of 4.20 or higher:
UCB: 46%
UCLA: 53%
UCSD: 88%
UCSB: 88%
UCD: 89%
UCI: 97%
UCSC: 95%
UCR: 99%
UCM: 98%
You have a competitive GPA for all the UC’s. ACT could be a bit higher for the top UC’s, UCLA/UCB.
UCI: Solid Match
UCR: Safety
UCSD: Match-High Match due to CS being a capped major and ultra competitive
UCB/UCLA: Low Reach due to ACT on the lower side for a CS major
Good Luck.
Thanks a lot for the reply! Yea my #1 is UCI so I’m really hoping I get in there. Unfortunately my act was a 30.25 one more point would’ve helped. Do you know if ICS at UCI requires or recommends SAT subject tests? I couldn’t find it on their website so I’m not sure. I know the Henri Samueli does. I’m asking because I don’t think I did well on the physics test today(math 2 went good) so idk if I should still send?
I see that no Subject tests are recommended. If you feel you did not do well, you do not have to send it. You can always send the Math 2 if you did well.
