Hey all! i have been using this site for many years but this is my first thread. I was wondering what my chances were at getting accepted to the aforementioned schools. I have a 3.9 gpa. my major is history. If your wondering why its not a 4.0 its due to the fact that i got a c+ in calc back when i was interested in engineering. So i guess what im asking is, can i get into ucla and cal with a 3.9 gpa with a's in all pre reqs and 1 c+ in calc. I have a few ecs, which include several volunteering hours, deans list, and a part time job.
Thank you for your time.

nah man, I doubt even UC Merced will take you with THAT gpa.

Joking aside, you are in at both. Don’t talk about your 3.9 as if you should be embarrassed about it.

Are you trying to make the rest of us feel bad or something? HAHAHA just kidding

I could never understand why those with 3.9-4.0 GPAs, great ECs, etc even ask for chances here. You guys are obviously more than likely in…these aren’t some extremely selective ivy league schools like Yale or Princeton. No need to flaunt your GPA and make those who don’t have such high stats feel less hopeful than they already are. sorry /endrant

^ But keep in mind that 3.9/4.0, mediocre/good ec’s aren’t ‘guaranteed ins’ for impacted majors like Econ/business

If you completed all prereqs then you’re in!

You should be ok but don’t get complacent. I’ve known two guys with 4.0s get denied from Berkeley mainly because their personal statements were trash.

I thought history majors didn’t have any pre reqs?
