I moved schools before junior year, which explains my lack of leadership positions and also why my extra curricular aren’t very consistent (for clubs). Will this hurt me during applications? Also, general thoughts on this resume?
UCLA and Berkeley are mid reach for you, although your stats are phenomenal. This is because of the schools’ highly selective admission process.
Your chance for Stanford id very, very low.
@Mminjjae So having a 2370 SAT, perfect GPA with rigor, AND good EC’s gives her very low chances for Stanford AND UCLA is a reach? Even for the most selective universities in America those are devaluations of her achievements. OP disregard this poster.
Berkely and UCLA : High matches
Stanford : Reach but for everyone it is.
EC’s don’t show leadership, so it will be tough to see how that will impact your application. Berkeley may be a match but I think Stanford will be a very high reach with no leadership experience.
Oh, trust me.
I have a lot of friends who have perfect SAT’s, 4.0 GPA, and great everything, but they didn’t get into any of the school up there. Actually, UCLA was’t that bad, but Berkeley is very hard. Stanford is extremely hard because everyone who gets accepted/waitlisted already has 2400 SAT and 4.4 WGPA…
Match for UCLA, low reach for Berkeley, high reach for Stanford…because it’s Stanford.
Your lack of leadership positions will definitely impact your chances unless you explain it in your application. All of these are very competitive, but your stats and ECs are well above average! The only thing that stands in your way is the sheer number of other applicants. Good luck!!
