Junior Year:
-1st & 2nd Semesters: 5.0 GPA

Extra Curriculars:

-NHS (2 years)
-Key Club (3 years)

-Member of Leo Club (1 year) ; Representative for Leo Club (1 year)
-Waterpolo (3 years)
-Music Production for leisure

Volunteering Hours: ~100

Note: I will have taken 12 AP Classes by the end of my senior year & 3 Honors Classes

Your 10th and 11th grade GPA looks very strong which is very good.
EC’s are kind of vague, but the music production seems very interesting. Course rigor looks good based on your weighted GPA.
UCLA is super random these days as over 110k people applied last year and probably even more this upcoming admissions cycle.

What college are you applying for?

.

I’m applying for UCLA, Cal, UCSD, USC, among a few other privates… @rdeng2614

Your GPA looks competitive and it would help to bump up your ACT score.
What is your intended major and are you in-state?

@Gumbymom My intended major is Biology, and I am in-state.

I meant what college as in what college under UCLA. It seems that you are applying to the College of Letters and Sciences which will certainly help as it is less competitive than the other colleges.

One tip is to ask for recs early.
I think UCs accept them starting this year, and they are crucial in gauging the amount of impact in the school/community/classroom which are very important things that UCLA is looking for.

If you ask for recs early, they will be more personalized as the teachers have more time to write them.

The UC’s do not routinely accept Letters of Recommendation.
See information from the UC Website:::

Letters of recommendation

You should not submit letters of recommendation for the UC application. However, some campuses/majors may require letters of recommendation as part of a supplemental application review. Be sure to check for an email message from a campus.
