My insight questions received very positive feedback from others and I also received a request for supplemental questions from UCLA. Do I have a shot?

Use this to find your capped/weighted UC GPA. https://rogerhub.com/uc-undergraduate-admissions-calculator/
Not going to lie, your SAT and your GPA look to be low for UCLA, and they do not factor class rank/percentile at all. Unlike private schools, the UCs don’t really have a very holistic way of assessing candidates, so those two things are the biggest determinant. Still. you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take right? Wish you luck

Chance me for UCI?

For UCI, you SAT is still very low. UCI’s 25th percentile SAT is 1150. What is your UC GPA? The average GPA according to their Common Data Set is a 3.97 (Capped/Weighted UC GPA I think).

First you need to calculate your UC GPA. UCI uses Capped weighted, while UCLA will use Capped weighted and Fully weighted. Also the UC’s only use 10-11th grades for the a-g courses (capped at 8 semesters of UC approved Honors, AP/IB or DE courses).

Based on your uW GPA, your UC GPA would probably in the 3.8-3.9 range.

I would say UCLA is a Reach based on stats only (GPA and test scores).

UCI would be a High Match based on stats only.

First generation/disadvantage background will help especially if you address this your personal insight essays.

Lot’s of EC with Leadership; Strong Essays

I have been accepted to Cal Poly SLO Engineering CS major; UC Davis CS in L &S and UCSD Math/CS

My school does not report individual class rank.

@eastbayrent: Did you apply for CS at UCSD? Was Math/CS your alternate major for UCSD? Also it is considered rude to hijack another poster’s chance thread. Please start your own.

sorry, didn’t mean to be rude, not was I aware that I was hijacking another thread

@eastbayrent: @kryz1999 started this thread for their chances, so all posts should be directed to the original poster. Just some CC etiquette.

Sorry duplicate post.
