Chances for UCs and LACs?

With the college application season really in full swing, I'm beginning to feel a lot of the anxieties and worries about which universities I even have a chance at. With stats such as mine, what chances would you think I'd have at the major UCs (Berkeley, LA, Davis, SD, Irvine), liberal arts colleges (Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Swarthmore, Amherst, Williams, Smith) and others such as USC, UChicago, Tufts, Cornell and Washington.

I of course will not be applying to all of these, but I would like an assessment of where exactly I am right now. Thank you in advance for your input.

GPA (weighted): 3.9
GPA (unweighted): 3.7
UC GPA (weighted): 3.92
UC GPA (unweighted); 3.62

Rank: Top 10%

SAT I:
CR: 750
M: 740
W: 800

SAT II:
Math IIc: 800
Bio: 760
Lit: 740

APs:
Will have taken 15 by the end of senior year, mostly 5s and 4s on AP exams.

Extracurricular:
Volunteering (150+ hours)
Debate (regional and state awards)
Math team
Science team

Others:
Essays will (hopefully) be great.
Teacher recommendations will be good.
Planning to major in philosophy.

Thank you again!

Bump (sorry). Any comments at all would be greatly appreciated.

for UC’s you look good for Davis, Irvine, and SD. your test scores are fantastic but the weighted GPA isnt high enough for ucla or berkeley.

Ahh, that’s what I was afraid of. Thank you very much for the input however!

Great SATs but GPA is too low for Berkeley. I’d say berkeley would be super reach.

Might look at Duke. Also schools like Holy Cross and Bowdoin as safeties.

Alright, thank you for the comments!

Just a quick question, but does Berkeley/LA look at senior first semester grades? I had a personal problem that really prevented me from operating at my full potential during the first three years of high school; however, this is currently under control and I will most likely end up with a 4.8 or 5.0 first semester. Would this improvement have any influence at all?

^ I heard some admitted students who said that Berkeley considers that.

fair chance you can get into ucla and berkeley as well as your lacs.

The UCs are very much by the numbers and focus on the UC GPA (sop and jr years). They will look at senior grades to make sure there’s no drop.
